No More Dross!

Lyrics and Music by Daniel Keith Amerine

Lyrics

Verse 1:
No more dross!
No more stain!
No more of me and my selfish gain!
Purify
My heart’s desire!
I wanna’ wanna’ be more like You!

Verse:
And Lord, make me the one that You’ve called
Totally secure in Your Love
And let them see Your Love flowing through
Your voice that declares: “You can know Him too!”

Behind The Scenes

I was a Youth Leader in the youth group of a church while I was a student at ORU (Oral Roberts University). We were having a big youth prayer meeting-marching around Praying in Tongues and grabbing a hold of the Throne and heart of God for our youth group and for our city. Then, suddenly, the Holy Spirit got in my face with such an authoritative mandate. He suddenly said: “Write my heart!” I crumpled to my knees and scribbled out the exact lyrics to this song. About an hour later, as I was driving back to campus at ORU, the melody and everything just hit me and just started singing it out…the whole song. I believe it has a prophetic mantle on it for the heart.
